I cannot even believe after this many negative reviews All recipes still won’t bring back the old app. It was fantastic. I am beyond disappointed. My saved recipes are still online last I checked but having them accessible on my phone while cooking was amazing! Still just sad and mad they won’t bring back the old app. I too would have been willing to pay some small fee for upkeep rather than this nonsense.

I normally access the site on my workstation. Which, so far still works - allrecipes.com - but when I went to use it on my tablet (I needed a reminder for amounts), I found that my app no longer functioned. So like I normally do, I removed the app and went to download it again figuring there were updates needed. Could not find it in the “App Store” or in the Microsoft Store”. I did find this magazine app. I, thankfully, read a few of the reviews before downloading the app. Then I read a few more. And more. I decided not to use the magazine app period. Thankfully, any recipe that I liked and wanted to try out I saved on my local drive. So unlike the others in the reviews I’ve read, I still have them. Just click on ‘print’ and change it from your printer name to “save as pdf”. That way I never lose them. One thing I noticed in all the reviews I did read is that the “Developer Response” is basically a cut and paste response. The email address is different (3 or 4 different ones), but that is just about it. Starts with the same exact sentence - “Thank you for taking the time to give us a review.” And continues on. I tried to do y own cut and paste so I could copy the entire developer response, but was unable to. ——- So now I need to find another app/site for my recipes, although I still have tons I have not used yet, lol. I will miss “Chef John” though. It was always enjoyable to listen to him describe how to create the dish. I hope that others read this so that they will find the way to save - locally - the recipes they wanted to try. Luck to those people.

Like others, I found the old app the be indispensable in the kitchen. I had years of recipes saved, I used it many times per week, and honestly would’ve been more than happy to pay for it. WHY would Allrecipes take steps backward to return to a magazine format. Who even reads magazines any more, print or digital?! What a shame!

Most of my favorite recipes are gone. Those recipes have been used to carry on family traditions every holiday season. Thanks a lot!!! No response or apology needed or accepted. UGH!!!

I was hoping that eventually with all the complaints that the decision makers of your company would come to their senses and bring back the app that was loved by so many. It was a bad choice then and is still a bad choice now.

I HATE, HATE, HATE having to use the website. The Allrecipes app was one of my all-time favorite apps and I used it weekly. I was able to recover all of my previously saved recipes by using my previous username and password, but it does take some effort to locate them every time. I have to select my account on the top right and then select saved items from the left side column that opens. Not exactly the most user friendly. From there, it is almost impossible to view or print recipes, search and save new recipes, or do almost anything else, due to the over abundance of annoying ads and pop-ups all over the place and often times blocking what I’m trying to view. I would have gladly paid a reasonable annual or one-time fee to the creators for the use of the ad-free app.

Are you serious? Whoever made this decision is a bumbling idiot! I used to almost exclusively use the app and snow I only use Yummly or Taste, cause you turned the app into a worthless pile of garbage. I’ve lost everything of mine, including years of my saved and favorite recipes with notes!

This is a joke. They removed the BEST recipe apps out there “to work on their website” only to make a new app for their magazine app and it’s a paid subscription. Whoever made this decision should be fired. Listen to your users! I don’t want a “thank you for your feedback” only to have nothing done. Do what is right and what we are asking for.

I used to have a great experience with the allrecipes app. For so many reasons it was an excellent resource and interface. This is yet another example of a corporate buy out killing everything good about something and replacing it with something so completely unlike the former that it can only disappoint.

So much for saving recipes and going paperless only to lose all recipes saved on old all recipes app. Wish I could give this zero stars. Chef John had the best recipes. I’ll be searching him out.

I am beyond disappointed that the recipes I have been saving & utilizing all the time are now gone. I get you are trying something new, but there should have been some courtesy letting customers know everything wad going to be gone. I don’t want your magazine. I want to be able to search for recipes with ease, the app did that. I would love to have my recipes back. All Recipes was always my first go to when looking for recipes. I’ll be utilizing a different recipe app going forward.

I had years of recipes in my account now they are gone so is the app I deleted it now I’m looking to find recipes to replace them . If I wanted a magazine I would buy one ! I am very disappointed goodbye.5 nicknames are taken I find that hard to believe

App stopped working after YEARS of having it and I deleted to reload in hopes of fixing bugs and now the app is a magazine and won’t let me log in. Super tedious to go to the website all the time. Ugh.

Not a review of the magazine app…just joining the chorus of reviewers frustrated by the mysterious disappearance of the old AllRecipes app. It was great. This “new” old-school business model is not the way people want to look for and store recipes. Well, people who value their time, anyway. Best of luck in the future!

Like so many others, I lost 20 years worth of recipes with no warning. Way to ruin a brand. Website is a terrible substitute, ad filled, impossible to navigate, and cluttered. Don't bother. The interesting thing is that I would have paid for access to the old app, if they hadn't broken it. Someone took a good business model and ruined it. In short, don't waste your time on this app or with whatever the new magazine is supposed to be. It's awful.

Who made the moronic decision to upset and lose their entire user base by deleting the dinner spinner app?? I’d say you should be fired but I think you’re doing the job yourself. Years and years of collected and trusted recipes and ratings/reviews and tips, just gone. So, so disappointing.

I never got a response to my question about the issue so I deleted the app thinking maybe it would work if reinstalled staled it. Lo and behold, the app doesn’t appear to exist anymore. This, after you buried my favorites so deep I had to email customer support to figure out where the heck my saved recipes were hiding. What kind of business model is this?

It stopped working on my phone. Now I can only get the magazine? I used the app for years and now I can’t. I figured maybe it got corrupted so I deleted it and now can’t get it back! Over 10 years I used this app and now this. I will not get the magazine. This is how you get people ticked off. How many people have you lost due to this?

This updated, new version is not good. All my saved recipes are gone. When I try to search for pumpkin chocolate chip cookie recipes I don’t get a single one in the results. Disappointed.

Where have the recipes gone????

This is NOT the old (and very good) recipe app. Allrecipes used to have an app like that where you could sign in, with no subscription to their magazine, and access recipes listed on their website. They even had another app called “AllRecipes Dinner Spinner” to help you find ideas for dinner. I used to use both regularly! Now both have been replaced with this garbage that’s only helpful for their magazine subscribers. No thanks. The website has reformatted some and is less user friendly now, but it still better than nothing, so that’s what I’ll be using from now own. Or I guess it’s just back to trusty old Pinterest for recipes!

So Allrecipes has cost my dearly in years of effort. I just want to make sure they NEVER make a foothold again in the interverse. I just DL’d the latest and it still is terrible. But at least now they think they can make money!!?? LOL. How do you spell “hoots-puh” again? I am sure they can spellcheck it for me since they have so very much of it. Saved my recipes for YEARS and they simply trashed them. Oh and DI NOT BELIEVE their sure to come remarks about reaching out to them with a case number. They do nothing. I just cannot believe they figured out a way to get a 1.6 average. I wish I could put zero stars. In fact they owe me stars back. Sincerely Andy G.

I can no longer log into this App. Is there a secret to getting in or has it been taken out of commission? I have years and years of my favorite recipe saved here. Luckily I can access them on Allrecipes.com website which is not convenient to use. Can someone tell me how to get into the App again?

I had used Allrecipes since 1999. I had recipes saved for decades. Now every one of them are GONE ! I just searched for a simple pie crust recipe and it pulled up salads, cookies and pork? WTH?! I thought I must have entered my search incorrectly, but found out it’s just the way the app is now set up. Pure advertising. Allrecipes is just useless. It used to be great. Read the comments from other reviewers. They’re all true. Bye bye Allrecipes. RIP

I used my app for so many wonderful recipes! Where do I find it?

I saved so many recipes in the Allrecipes app. Now I can't even log in. This app is a water of time. I'm so disappointed in Allrecipes. They have great recipes but now you can't save them and it's not user friendly. I'm so disappointed!!!

Allrecipes, Thank you for bringing back the website with the recipes. Although the app was nice, I’m ok with using the website. All the recipes I saved for years are BACK!

I have saved many recipes in the allrecipes app and some weren’t working so I thought I just needed to update my app. Now I come to look for it and it’s gone?! I wish I would have known this before I deleted the app to reinstall it. I could have at least wrote down the few recipes I still had left in there.

I agree with everyone here that I don’t want some dumb magazine subscription, I want all my awesome recipes back. You messed up big time getting rid of the app I’ve used for many years

Way to destroy a brand. Used to be a go to app for recipes, I’ve been a user probably 20 years. Granted haven’t paid a penny, but this is not anything I’d consider. Talk about monetizing something without much consideration for what you’ve built/taken over. 😒

Bring back the all recipes app! Why would you take it away? Nobody wants the dumb magazine or wants to use the website that is a piece of junk. I used the all recipes app daily and not it’s gone.

Now that you know that almost everyone who loved the old app hates the magazine app, you should change the name of the magazine, so people who remember “AllRecipes” aren’t disappointed. The magazine app stinks. I tried searching for “cabbage rolls”, thinking that perhaps I could find a recipe that at least resembled the one I remembered seeing in the old app. I got an article on “red cabbage”; several recipes for “cinnamon rolls”; one for “sushi roles” and an article by Chef John on “casse roles” (really). Your responses to everyone’s one-star reviews included “Please be rest assured that you will get access to all your issues included in your account. We will be happy to solve all the problems reported by you.” Will I get the same response? Because my problem is that I can’t access the recipes that I stored in the old app.

I lost ALL of my recipes!! That amount of stupidity to get me to subscribe to your magazine has the opposite effect. I shall not in any way subscribe. Dumbest business decision ever

Horrible business decision to remove the app and focus on the magazine and website. Clearly this decision was made by someone who did not understand the customer experience.

My AllRecipies app stopped working, so I downloaded this version, but it’s useless without the subscription. I had some really great recipes saved and *POOF* now they’re gone. I will not be paying to subscribe to the “magazine.” I get enough mail that I don’t read (snail or email). I just want the recipes I’ve already saved back.

My app is still not working. I too have years and years of recipes saved up and it’s gone. You said you were working on fixes in April. It is now November where is the update? I understand about making money, but this is ridiculous that you/it/corporation are profiting off of years and years of peoples recipes that they shared out of their heart and goodwill.

I never write reviews. I am completely puzzled. This used to be a wonderful resource where people came together and shared their recipes. I don’t understand why this was changed. The new product is completely bland and run of the mill. This tops the Bears trading up to draft Mitch Trubisky, as one of the worst and decisions ever (shaking my head in disgust).

I used to have a genuine Allrecipes.com app on my iPad. It stopped working and I had to delete it. So frustrated that you no longer have an iPad app where I can access all my recipes. Please provide one!

I used the old app for many of my recipes, and would have been willing to pay a small amount to continue using it, but when I went to open the app to access some of my favorite saved recipes, instead I was met with this new version, which requires you to subscribe to a magazine. Needless to say, I will not be subscribing to a magazine and I’m very thankful that I am a hardcopy person and had already printed out all of my favorite recipes in the past and placed them in a binder. So long, All Recipies - whoever’s decision it was to screw over a loyal following for an obvious money grab should be fired. People are really tired of being exploited by companies, so I wouldn’t expect your new app to be a success. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What happened to the massive database of recipes that used to exist in the app? And what happened to my favorite recipes that I have been saving in your app for years?? They are all gone. No notice. You are crazy if you think I’m spending a dime on your magazine. How incredibly disappointing.

All my saved recipes are gone. Now you have to subscribe to a magazine, and it’s all their content. No more searching for recipes, no more adding recipes, no more dinner spinner, no more reviews. The best cooking app on the planet was gutted! What terrible business decision. Couldn’t they have just made a separate app for the magazine?! Honestly if they would’ve charged for the old amazing All Recipes app I would’ve paid in a heartbeat, it was that awesome. But I could care less about your dumb magazine.

Where are my recipes?! Years of saved recipes, gone. People submitted their own recipes and now they have to pay to see them?! Greed at it’s finest.

I loved this app.. well, the website before it was an app. I spent HOURS typing in personal and family recipes so I could throw away paper clutter and have all my recipes in one place. Somehow I am not able to log in and appears I have lost all the recipes I cherished. The help desk send me info on how to recover it but it didn’t work.. truly heartbroken

I get a new phone go to download the app which I use to love. Only to stumble upon the unrecognizable app. No dinner spinner, I immediately deleted the app as soon as I downloaded it. Terrible decision. I don’t know if you guys use the same advisor as bud light but you all need to have a meeting or something because this is awful. I was forced to select a star.

What have you done? You were a great app that was so helpful to people who love to cook. Why did you kick us all to the curve.

After years of using a simple app, they went to this crazy magazine app. I won’t be subscribing.

My favorite thing about the all recipes app is you could just open it up and look at recipes. Now with this new all recipes magazine app it’s like trying to navigate your way through a maze to find what your looking for. I am not impressed and have stopped using the app. Bring back the old version. I already subscribe to the magazine I can read it that way. I just want to be able to find recipes quickly.

What happened to the original app that had all my saved recipes at easy access? I also miss accessing all the recipes and videos from the magazine? Bring it back, please!
